A 22-year-old police officer in France was killed last night in the Nantes ring road in the west of the country, after being hit by a vehicle while pursuing several individuals who had fled on foot during a police intervention. French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez expressed his condolences and support for the deceased’s family. «I want to express my immense emotion and deep sadness,» they stated in a social media post. «My thoughts first go to their family, their loved ones, and their colleagues at the Saint-Herblain station, who are deeply affected by this drama,» added the Gallic representative of the Government. The deceased had been assigned to the Saint-Herblain police station for one and a half years, according to the National Police, which also sent its most sincere thoughts to their family, relatives, and colleagues.
